The Udyakan Festival is a vibrant cultural celebration held in Patnongon, a municipality located in the province of Antique, Philippines. It is usually held in the last week of April and lasts for several days, featuring a variety of events and activities that highlight the town's unique traditions and customs.

On or about 2:00 PM of January 19, 2023, The CADET attended the SB members meeting with HON. THOMAS V BACAOCO, VICE MAYOR MUNICIPALITY OF PATNONGON to learn more about the impending Patnongon UDYAKAN FESTIVAL.

SANGGUNIANG BAYAN(SB) MEMBERS
SB is the local legislative branch of the municipal government in the Philippines. It is responsible for passing ordinances and resolutions for the administration of the municipality. Its powers are defined by the local government code, passed by Congress in 1991.
UDYAKAN FESTIVAL:
It is celebrated at Patnongon, Antique on the last Monday of February. The people are gathering to witness promising events like the Mardi Gras competition, Fire Dance Competition, Parada Kang Karusa Competition, etc
UDYAKAN FESTIVAL

The cadet witnessed how municipal authorities plan for the forthcoming event, the Udyakan Festival, at this meeting. During the meeting, SB members discuss their budget and who will be in charge of each event. They also discuss the security of such an event and propose that every Barangay in Patnongon offer their Barangay Tanod as a force multiplier for the six-day event of the festival, with the PNP managing and making a detail every day and night. They also discuss how they should limit Perya's time so that the personnel can rest even only for a short time.
After that meeting, I realized that the PNP plays a significant role whenever there is an activity within its municipality and that the personnel of each Police Station is not enough to secure the entire area, that's why they needed a force multiplier. The Barangay Tanod and other volunteers are a huge help to the PNP in maintaining peace and order, and even traffic enforcers played a significant role in the event, so PCPT VISDA arrange a meeting with them to formally request their full cooperation.
