A Journey in Police Service

The start of my journey in the police service dates back to March 2017, when I graduated from the University of Antique with a degree in Criminology. Later that year, in December, I took the Criminology Licensure Examination, and in January 2018, the results were released, revealing that I had passed. I felt incredibly blessed and grateful.

With my license in hand, I set my sights on joining the Police Regional Office 6 as a Police Officer 1. Unfortunately, at the time, there were no recruitment opportunities for local police. However, I didn't let this setback deter me. I knew that the Special Action Force (SAF), an elite unit of the PNP, was accepting applicants, and without hesitation, I submitted my application folder. My goal was to enter the police service, and I knew that joining the SAF was the best way to achieve this goal.

A career in the police service can be a challenging yet rewarding journey. It requires a deep sense of dedication and commitment to public service. Serving in law enforcement provides a unique opportunity to make a positive impact in your community.

As a police officer, your day-to-day work revolves around enforcing the law, preventing crime, and protecting the public. It can involve working in various departments such as patrol, investigations, traffic, or community policing. Each department has its unique responsibilities and demands, but all are essential to maintaining public safety.

A police officer's journey typically begins with rigorous training, both physically and mentally. The training includes classroom instruction, practical skills, and scenario-based training to prepare officers for the unpredictable nature of the job. Police officers are held to a high standard of conduct, and they must maintain professionalism at all times, even in high-pressure situations.

The daily duties of a police officer can vary significantly from one day to the next. Police officers may respond to emergency calls, conduct investigations, or perform routine patrols in their community. Each day brings new challenges and opportunities to help make a difference in people's lives.
