“The leaders who work most effectively, it seems to me, never say ‘I.’ And that’s not because they have trained themselves not to say ‘I.’ They don’t think ‘I.’ They think ‘we’; they think ‘team.’ They understand their job to be to make the team function. They accept responsibility and don’t sidestep it, but ‘we’ gets the credit…. This is what creates trust, what enables you to get the task done.”[1]
- Peter Drucker
Municipal Advisory Council (MAC) is a council comprised of representatives from various sectors of the community in a municipality. MAC serves as an advisory body to the local government, providing recommendations and feedback on matters related to the development and welfare of the municipality. The council usually includes representatives from different organizations, such as business, education, youth groups, civic associations, and religious groups, among others.
MACs have an essential role in promoting citizen participation and collaboration in local governance. By bringing together community leaders and representatives, the council can help ensure that the local government's policies and programs are responsive to the needs and interests of the community. MACs can also help to improve communication and collaboration between the community and the local government, which can enhance transparency, accountability, and effectiveness of local governance. In short, MACs provide a vital link between the community and the local government, promoting collaborative decision-making and better service delivery.

MAC (Municipal Advisory Council) serve as a valuable means of communicating for both local officials and the communities they represent. Each MAC is an advisory body of local citizens appointed by the Board of Supervisors to represent the community's interests to the Board on a range of local issues. During the meeting, the Cadet notices that every member expresses their concern and offers suggestions on how to cope with any problems that arise with their organization and its members. The Cadet also observes that MAC is a very helpful group; they work together with the PNP to benefit their neighborhood, and one of their programs is the Community Garden

BETING JUBILAN, a Local Radio News Caster and President of the (MAC)Municipal Advisory Council of Patnongon planned and led the community garden to aid residents with their food. He is a big supporter of the PNP programs; he usually includes them in his activities and promotes them on his radio show. There is a MAC member in every sector of the community to represent every organization and office so that every organization may voice its issue. The goal of MAC was to establish an organization that could assist every member of the community via collaboration with the PNP.
