"United We Stand: The Power of the Squad System in Military and Police Training"

"Squad!" is a common expression among Military and Police Cadets that refers to their fellow Cadets with whom they share squad affiliation. Squads, one of the smallest units in the Military, are designed to provide support to a single element for their overall development in various fields necessary for their military or police service.

The Philippine National Police Academy practices squad affiliation, where cadets are assigned to specific squads and affiliated with random Cadets from different regions and ranks. The goal is to learn from one another, bond, and become better public safety servants by utilizing each other's strengths and overcoming weaknesses.

I, too, belong to a squad, which taught me everything I know and shaped me into who I am today. From the beginning, my upperclassmen guided me and provided me with the necessary skills and knowledge. They instilled a sense of camaraderie, love, and support, which is essential in winning over oneself in this challenging struggle.

As I progressed through the ranks, I became a 3rd Class Cadet, where I learned how to teach my underclassmen and support my squadmates. As a 2nd Class Cadet, I led the squad, guiding my juniors in teaching their underclassmen and ensuring that everything runs smoothly.

Now, as a 1st Class Cadet and the overall supervisor of the squad, I understand the heavy responsibility that comes with being an officer of the corps. My squad has taught me the importance of organizational leadership and the value of treating your squad mates as your family, where everyone's actions are for the benefit of the whole squad.

In conclusion, squad affiliation is more than just a military or police practice. It is a bond that strengthens camaraderie, instills support and love, and develops skills and knowledge that are essential to becoming better public safety servants.
