journey in police service

"My Journey of Service: How I Became a Cadet at the Philippine National Police Academy"

In March 2017, I completed my college education at the University of Antique. Later that year, I passed the Criminology Licensure Examination in December, which gave me the confidence to pursue my passion for law enforcement. In February 2018, I applied for a role as a Police Officer 1 at the Police Regional Office 6, only to find out that they weren't hiring local police at that time. However, I didn't lose hope and found an opportunity to join the elite unit of the PNP, the Special Action Force (SAF), to continue my journey of service.

After a rigorous screening process, I qualified for SAF Training and was sent to Camp Bagong Diwa in Lower Bicutan, Taguig City, in June 2018, for my oath-taking ceremony. The Public Safety Basic Recruit Course (PSBRC) was held at Santo Niño, Magalang Pampanga, where I underwent a series of tough training sessions. Some of my classmates resigned, and others went awol, but I was determined to finish the training because of my family's pride in my achievement. Quitters never win, and I didn't want to let my loved ones down.

In December 2018, my life changed when I saw my name on the list of those who passed the PNPACAT that would compose the PNPA Class of 2023. Despite being under training with PNP-SAF, I couldn't resist the opportunity to be part of the Prestigious Institution of the Philippine National Police Academy. I processed my application while continuing the SAF training, but the journey wasn't without obstacles.

Despite that, my determination to pursue my dream paid off when I was selected from 30,000 applicants as one of the few Cadets on the final list. The journey wasn't easy, but with the support of my friends, family, and most importantly, God, I made it to the end and earned the title of LAKAN, a graduate of the Philippine National Police Academy.

As I dedicate my achievements to my loved ones, I invite fellow Antiqueños to consider joining the service academies to help our country and our community. We can all contribute to the betterment of our society, and I am proud to be an inspiration to those who aspire to be cadets and serve the country.
